Vipramukhya Swami is NOT a devotee, in my opinion anyway.
Believe me, I am a congregational member of Bhativedanta Manor, of which
he is the Temple President.
He lets the whole crowd know (at the Janmashtami Volunteers "thank-you"
meeting) that he has been chanting 64 rounds every Janmashtami since he
joined ISKCON, and then tries to stop the applause by a show of
humility. What does he expect when he makes such a declaration anyway?
I generally feel very uncomfortable around him, and I only ever show him
obeisances when I have to, in the presence of others or otherwise, for I
feel no personal inclination. I only show obeisances to those who DO
have saintly qualities.
Do you know that Radhanatha Swami fully prostrated before an old man,
apparently in respect for his age? That, in my view is a saintly
quality.
And as for Vipermouth, I just wanna stay away from him.
I preferred it when the President of BM was Akandadhi das. There were
stilol troubles in those days but at least the atmosphere was better.
