ExBaba's Anonymous Attack On Anonymous People

The following anonymous article appeared on ExBaba.com:

GENERAL NOTICE CONCERNING ANONYMOUS DEFAMATORY ATTACKS AND LIES AGAINST EXBABA & ASSOCIATES (14 April. 2005 20.00 GMT)

My Response: As one will notice, ExBaba.com does not state what "defamatory attacks and lies" are being waged against "ExBaba & Associates". First, Anti-SSB Activists formed JuST (Just Seekers of Truth), then they formed FDSSB (Former Devotees of Sathya Sai Baba, A Global Coalition) and then they formed an anonymous group of 6 people as the SaiPetition.net Committee. Now, we have "ExBaba & Associates".

The webmaster, owners and contributors to ExBaba.com are repeatedly subjected to personal attacks of a very low defamatory level on message boards and websites by anonymous persons who dare not state their addresses or phone numbers and who hide behind names which for all purposes amount only to incognito web identities. Two of these have been repeatedly asked for their addresses and phone numbers but have refused to give them. Their names need not be mentioned here, those who are aware of their allegations will know the names they are using. This hiding speaks volumes about the fanaticism of certain Sai devotees, even though the two main offenders receive no open support from any of the alleged 'millions' of followers of Sai Baba. That alone says a lot and is also is a favourable comment on the good intentions in this respect of persons who are nevertheless more or less blind believers in Sai Baba.

My Response: The webmaster for Vishvarupa.com is repeatedly subjected to personal attacks of a very low defamatory level on message boards and websites by anonymous persons who dare not state their addresses or phone numbers and who hide behind names which for all purposes amount only to incognito web identities. As a matter of fact, one can click here to view the many anonymous attacks waged against me by "ExBaba & Associates". The "SaiPeitition.net Committee" (allegedly comprised of six people) wrote an article in which they refused to state their names. Hypocrisy, clear and simple. One will notice that most Anti-Sai Activists do not provide their addresses and phone numbers either. As a matter of fact, all of the alleged sexual abuse victims do not divulge their addresses or phone numbers and "for all purposes amount only to incognito web identities". Consequently, using "ExBaba & Associates" standard, all of the alleged sexual abuse victims are not who they say they are. If ExBaba.com wants to set the standard for identifying people by using addresses and phone numbers, they should practice what they preach before dispersing anonymous articles (attacking anonymous people) and appearing exceedingly foolish and cockle-brained. Among those who formerly attacked various writers in the exposé, are the faceless persons at saionline.com. Their views were refuted most soundly in a number of replies, all posted on ExBaba.com. Among those replies was one in which a follower of Sai Baba for 20 years, Ex-Vice-President of a USA Sai Centre and Regional Workshop presenter, Elena Hartgering - an experienced US sexual abuse counsellor. It applies perfectly to the current agitators against ExBaba...

My Response: Here, we have a clear admission, from "ExBaba & Associates" that they published emails from a "faceless" person at SaiOnline.com without getting their permission to do so. Despite this admission, "ExBaba & Associates" turns right around and accuses me of participating in "illegal" activities by publishing emails sent to me by Anti-Sai Activists who have not divulged their addresses or phone numbers either. Furthermore, SaiOnline.com signed their email, "Support Group". I don't know why "ExBaba & Associates" takes issue with this when they have dispersed many articles on the internet and in their guestbook as "ExBaba". This once again points to the double standards that "ExBaba & Associates" use and abuse against everyone else except themselves.

Immediately evident is the email is not signed. How can we be expected to take the content seriously when the correspondent does not have enough confidence in the truth of his/her writing to attach a signature?

The writer also makes personal attacks on Robert Priddy, and opines on his state of mind. This is the great fallacy of reasoning – argumentum ad hominem.

When you have no real facts to support your position, then attack the person. Here again the writer loses credibility.

My Response: First of all, I have signed all of my emails and have put my full name on all of my pages on this site. It is indeed amusing that "ExBaba & Associates" chose to cite Elena A. Hartgering's email, especially in light of the fact that Elena Hartgering did not divulge her address or phone number. Furthermore, "ExBaba & Associates" have attacked me numerous times under the guise of complete anonymity. Upholding the rationale cited by Hartgering, the anonymous articles dispersed by "ExBaba & Associates" against me, lack self-confidence to attach a signature, cannot be taken seriously, engage in ad hominem tactics and thereby lose all credibility! As a matter of fact, their article is proof. It does not have a signature and is anonymous.

We have to do with what one of these persons repeatedly says are"cowardly creatures" who are "running scared" as soon as they are asked to state exactly who and where they are. Such persons are malicious scoundrels, the kind of poisoned pens whose disgruntled and fanatical views no decent person would ever take seriously! Their identities and locations are currently under professional investigation and they can then expect to face the consequences having left themselves wide open to hefty damages claim from a number of individuals. They can run, but can't hide!

My Response: This comment pertains directly to me. Of course, don't expect the "cowardly creature" who wrote this article to mention my name, or provide a link to my site, to support this claim against me! Now, where did the phrase "cowardly creature" come from? Look no further than Robert Priddy, who said, "You may reply with full names and addresses, otherwise you will only prove to us that you are cowardly creatures hiding under a stone." It is amusing to point out that Robert Priddy has thus far refused to clearly divulge his phone number and address on his own website as well!

It is also amusing that the "faceless" person who wrote this article said:

First of all, it is not difficult to find out my phone number and address. I provide my full name on my pages and have already been contacted by both Pro and Anti Sai Activists (the most recent being Ojvind Kyro, an Anti-Sai Journalist). How could these people have contacted me if I am not who I say I am? I am fully prepared to defend myself, and my freedom of speech in a court of law. As a matter of fact, the SaiPetition.net website is so totally committed to freedom of speech, they allow anyone to voice their defamations, libels and slurs against Sathya Sai Baba under pseudonyms. Is "ExBaba & Associates" anti-free-speech as well? It is of little wonder that many feel Anti-Sai Sites defend themselves in a way reminiscent of extremist cults. Obviously, "ExBaba & Associates" think that they can bully other with fear tactics. This might work with the less vocal sheep in their own fold, but it most certainly will not work with me.

Today, the ExBaba admin added the following paragraphs to thier article:

Note: Those who support this article are a large group of persons attacked by one nonentity on the internet. Several persons have contributed to the above notice, which is to be taken as a definitive warning of pending action - firstly on one-sided infringement of US copyright law (not 'free speech'). Serious defamation by at least two persons is a subsequent issue. The addresses of the main contributors have been posted on exposé websites and in numerous letters to any authorities etc. who need to confirm their existence. Robert Priddy wishes his address to be noted yet again: it is Agathe Grøndahlsgt. 2B. 0478 Oslo, Norway. His phone number is not put on-line since this can lead to many unwanted disturbances.

About US copyright and wilful infringements on the internet without permission from the person who owns the legal rights to the information see... http://www.us-cert.gov/cas/tips/ST05-004.html: These activities can have serious legal implications. To illegally download, reproduce, or distribute information, is to risk legal action. The penalties include mandatory removal of all references to costly fines. Jail time is also possible. Take note that ExBaba.com does not infringe the copyright of its attacker or break the relevant copyright law in any way.

My Response: Of course, these articles are publicly dispersed on the internet and are part of an ongoing, public debate about Sri Sathya Sai Baba. Those who engage in this very public debate can expect that there are some who are going to take issue with their words. I give full credit to the authors of the articles and also provide a link to their site (something Anti-Sai Sites fail to do in return). It is also to be noted that SaiGuru.net specifically stated on their website that they are an "independent website", yet they duplicate ExBaba.com's articles in full and ExBaba.com sees no problem with them doing so. I have nothing to hide. Does ExBaba.com have something to hide? One need go no further than ExBaba.com's Letter Section to see how they duplicated letters and articles in full and then critiqued them. This has been done with letters from Goldstein, Jagadeeshan, Hislop, Newspaper Reporters, UNESCO Representatives, Documentary Transcripts, etc., and with emails from alleged Sai Devotees. Robert Priddy also plagiarized (verbatim) my titles, keywords, descriptions, metatags and javascripts onto his own site (some are still seen on his pages even to this day). Consequently, any action against me for copyright infringement, will have direct and incisive repercussions against all Anti-Sai Sites.

Furthermore, Robert Priddy demanded that I provide my phone number to verify my identity. Of course, don't expect Robert Priddy to divulge his phone number. In all three of Robert Priddy's articles about the alleged Hislop Letters, Priddy said, "Two unscrupulous supporters of Sai Baba, (who still lack open support from anyone and who both fear to reveal their true identities, address or phone numbers)..." Another glaring example of Anti-Sai Activist's failing to practice what they preach and holding themselves to different standards than what they expect of others. To date, Robert Priddy has refused to provide his address and phone number on his own websites. As a matter of fact, he gave this address: Egilsvei, 41. 1450 Nesoddtangen Norway. Which one is the real address?

My Response: As if Reinier Van Der Sandt (the Webmaster of ExBaba.com who admitted viewing child pornography and using multiple, fake online identities) could not get even more hypocritical, RVD Sandt is now stealing my text, to my web pages, disabling all of the links, failing to provide a link to the original article, failing to give me credit for my pages and taking my picture and editing it! First, RVD Sandt makes the case that I am violating copyrights and is seeking to sue me, then turns right around (in true hypocritical form) and engages in even more opprobrious behavior than what he attributed to me. RVDS does not have the honesty or integrity to even provide a link to my original page. As long as my text is copied in full, I am given full credit and a link is provided on the page that leads back to the original page, I have no problems with people using my articles. Why?
