About Sharon Purcell And Sathya Sai Baba:
Sharon Purcell (now deceased) was from Tustin, California and was allegedly devoted to Bhagavan Sri Sathya Sai Baba for 32 years before she defected due to the sexual abuse allegations leveled against him.
After her defection from Sai Baba, Sharon Purcell (Satch’s mother) stated in an email to Glen Meloy that she believed Sai Baba was a “monster”, a “demon from the astral world” and was “concerned that the late Walter and Elsie Cowan may have ended up in an astral demon’s realm”. How’s that for a sober, rational and logical argument against Sathya Sai Baba? Sharon also doubted Baba because she was in labor for 46 hours and was deeply hurt because she did not get an interview in 1991. Sharon Purcell also advocated for Tal Brooke’s book, “Avatar of the Night” (written by a Fundamentalist Christian whose stories have never been corroborated by any alleged witness in 30+ years). Gary Purcell divorced Sharon in 1977 (when Satch was 4 years old).
Sharon Purcell told Glen Meloy that she was prepared to spend the rest of her life exposing Sai Baba’s alleged sexual molestations on innocent boys and young men and prayed that other people would come forward with their stories. Sharon Purcell died on February 15th 2003 (while in her 60’s) of Lou Gehrig’s disease and left no original articles or words against Sathya Sai Baba except a few sentences uttered on an Argentinean TV program (directed by the atheist, Alejandro Agostinelli) which said:
“Well, you know what? I believed he was God… he did do one thing that I can’t explain, that’s why I think that he is some kind of an astral demon.”
Satch Purcell - Sharon Purcell - Sathya Sai Baba (Part 1):
- My Life As Sathya Sai Baba’s Prophecy (Part 1)
http://home.hetnet.nl/~ex_baba/engels/articles/sathyapurcell01.html
Satch Purcell is writing a series of articles against Sathya Sai Baba in which he reinterprets his family’s miraculous experiences with their former Indian Guru.
Sathya Sai Baba correctly foretold to Barry Pittard (when he was allegedly observing celibacy) that he would have a son several years before he actually did (Reference). Like Barry Pittard, Sathya Sai Baba correctly foretold to Gary and Sharon Purcell that they would give birth to a son (which occurred 2 years later). Sathya Sai Baba told Gary and Sharon to name the child after him, hence the name “Sathya Sai Purcell”. Satch Purcell “now thinks” (he doesn’t remember) that as a toddler, he stuck a medallion that Baba materialized for him into a socket. Although a piece of the medallion was burned off (indicating it was made of metal), it mysteriously did not conduct electricity and Satya Purcell was not hurt. Regarding this experience, Satch Purcell said:
“Such instances, filtered through the pious mind, show how easy it is for Sai Baba’s fame to spread by sudden leaps and bounds.”
Satch Purcell begins his Anti-Sai series with a meaningless example, citing a story he does not even remember. I am sure that any mother who saw a flash of light, heard an electrical sound and found her toddler behind a sofa with a burned metal medallion would be thanking God profusely.
It is amusing that Sathya Purcell is attempting to reinterpret his experiences as non-miraculous when most Anti-Sai Activists hold the view that Sathya Sai Baba does possess genuine paranormal powers.
Barry Pittard said:
“I can tell you that I and others have witnessed hundreds - and ones of the most profoundly beautiful sort - both mediated in his own person and in places far from him but in their style connected with him. My own view is this: that they are happening on a tremendously wide scale; that they cannot all be explained away as faked...From November 1975, I began to experience many profound and beautiful phenomena. Wherever I travelled in the world, they manifested far away from, yet were often clearly related to, his physical presence on the planet...I have many times experienced supranormal phenomena related to him, which there is no explaining away...Their sheer magnitude round the globe is bound to attract history’s final verdict that they are real, and do happen. (I have, by the way, found many rationalists and sceptics just as biased as many religionists)...” (Reference)
Robert Priddy (another ex-devotee) said:
“Some of what I experienced of SSB’s extraordinary and positive powers through many years is undeniable, even after the most rigorous skeptical investigations, and I do not regard him as any ordinary human being. I have simply had to realize that his actions in the worldly and human sphere are not infallible and are not always setting a perfect example for others.” (Reference)

- My Life As Sathya Sai Baba’s Prophecy (Part 2)
http://home.hetnet.nl/~ex_baba/engels/articles/sathyapurcell02.html
This is Satch Purcell’s second article in which he attempted (once again) to make the case that Sathya Sai Baba is a lousy fraud magician whose lousy fraud magician materializations are as clear as day. Funny enough (as stated before), even some of the most vocal Anti-Sai Activists believe that Sathya Sai Baba does possess genuine paranormal powers. Confusingly, these critics believe that Sathya Sai Baba both fakes and performs genuine materializations (how’s that for being confused?). Also, it appears the ExBaba admin is enhancing Satch’s articles with Anti-Sai links because they forgot to add Robert Priddy’s link to his bogus “green diamond” claim and left a note in the article that said “ROBERT RING XXX” (which clearly was not written by Satch).
Sharon Purcell told Glen Meloy that Satch Purcell:
“remembers vividly having to jump out of the way when they were still sweeping the blood from the temple later that morning” (a claim often repeated by Anti-Sai Activists)
However, Satch Purcell related his memory of the event and made no mention to seeing any blood and claimed the mess was “cleaned up before the masses could see it”. As a matter of fact, Satch only recalled being at Whitefield and said absolutely nothing about being at Puttaparthi on his 1993 trip with Hal Honig!
It is clear that Satch Purcell is attempting to pick up where his mother (Sharon Purcell) left off. Deeply hurt about his mother’s premature death from a severe illness and her belief that Baba could perform genuine miracles (which made her think Baba was an astral demon), Satch Purcell is attempting to make a case against Sathya Sai Baba. The end result is that Satch’s entire case is based on numerous hearsay claims and attempts to convince people that Baba hid watches, necklaces, rings, vibuthi and a shiva lingam in cloth handkerchiefs hanging from the side of his chair (in full view of everyone present).
Satch Purcell never claimed seeing Baba reach into his chair, behind his chair, etc. If anyone could hide all those items in handkerchiefs hanging from the side of a chair in full view of everyone present, that would be a miracle. Needless to say, Sathya Sai Baba’s miracles are not limited to his person and there are literally thousands of international claims of miracles directly attributed to Sathya Sai Baba. The following links provide some examples:
- Manifestations At Sai Sruti Temple in Harrow, Middlesex, UK
- Vibhuti Manifestation in a Devotee’s House in London
- Vibuthi Manfestations In Bali, Indonesia
- Manifestations In Colusa, California
- Manifestations At Sri Ragnapatnam, Mysore, India
Satch Purcell - Sharon Purcell - Sathya Sai Baba (Part 3):
- My Life As Sathya Sai Baba’s Prophecy (Part 3)
http://home.hetnet.nl/~ex_baba/engels/articles/sathyapurcell03.html
Satch Purcell (aka “Sathya Sai Purcell”) is now claiming (after a 14 year period) that Sathya Sai Baba “covertly grasped” his groin. Needless to say, Sharon Purcell (Satch’s own mother) never mentioned (in her letters to Glen Meloy) that her own son was inappropriately touched by Sathya Sai Baba (nor were any ex-devotees aware of this information). This is totally new information from Satch Purcell that has been purposely suppressed for 14 years (even from his own Mother).
Sharon Purcell claimed that Satch told her in 1993 that he renounced Sathya Sai Baba because his three friends (Josh Kintz, Jed Geyerhahn and an unknown third male) alleged they had their genitals oiled by Sathya Sai Baba. Although Satch Purcell defected from Sai Baba in 1993 due to hearsay genital-oiling allegations, his own mother was not convinced of his claims and maintained her devotion to Sathya Sai Baba for seven years after her own son defected.
Furthermore, Josh Kintz was 19 years old and an adult in 1993 and he has never come forward alleging sexual abuse against Sathya Sai Baba. Therefore, the hearsay claims made about Josh are suspect.
Jed Geyerhahn’s testimonies against Sathya Sai Baba are so thoroughly contradictory, it is exteremly difficult to take anything he claims seriously. According to Geyerhahn’s testimonies, his last trip to Sathya Sai Baba Baba was when he was 18 in 1991, not 1993. Futhermore, Geyerhahn claimed that he simply had his genitals/scrotum rubbed with vibuthi/oil and said, “Fortunately, I was never taken advantage of any worse". Geyerhahn also made it clear that by his last trip to Sai Baba, he lost his faith in him. If this is true and if Geyerhahn was in India with Sai Baba in 1993, isn’t it strange that both Satch Purcell and Jed Geyerhahn defected at the same time? Why would Jed Geyerhahn keep visiting Sathya Sai Baba (over and over again) if he felt he was being violated by Sathya Sai Baba? The fact of the matter is that Geyerhahn did not see anything sexual in what Sathya Sai Baba did to him and changed his story only after reading about other allegations. More importantly, Geyerhahn’s own Aunt was present during all the interviews he had with Sathya Sai Baba. To attempt to understand Geyerhahn’s contradictory allegations it is best to read my article about him.
Sathya Purcell signed the bogus Sai Petition as being a follower Of Sai Baba until the age of 23. Satya Purcell was born in 1973, which would mean he was a follower until 1996, not 1993 as alleged by Sharon Purcell in her letter to Glen Meloy. Either way, it is very strange that Satch’s own mother dismissed sexual abuse allegations made by her own son (although Baba allegedly touched him inappropriately) and she continued to follow Sai Baba until the year 2000 when her faith was shattered by her own illness and a highly questionable sexual abuse account from Mark Roche.
Mark Roche claimed in the Secret Swami documentary that he was allegedly abused once in 1976 (when he was approximately 25 years old) and maintained his devotion as a devotee to 1994 (for a period of 15 years). Strangely enough, Roche spent several weeks with Robert Priddy in 1994 and never gave any indication that he was upset with Baba or that anything was wrong. Mark Roche’s testimony came from “out of the blue” and he has neither filed a basic police complaint, court case or even a written testimony about his alleged experiences with Sathya Sai Baba (Reference). In the Secret Swami video, Mark Roche simply claimed that Baba put his penis in his mouth. Roche never claimed that Baba ejaculated into his mouth. However, this is exactly what Satch Purcell claimed that Baba did to Mark Roche. Why would Mark Roche remain a devotee for 15 years after his Guru ejaculated in his mouth? The more critics write, the more convoluted and contradictory the stories get.
Although Satch Purcell alleged that a healing lingam that Baba gifted to Sharon Purcell did not heal anyone, it is important to remember that Sharon Purcell never mentioned anything bad about the lingam.
Thousands of people who are sick and diseased seek healings through Churches, Synogogues, Temples, Mosques, etc. and are not cured. Does this mean that God does not exist for billions of believers? The enigma of suffering is the most difficult issue posed to religion. The fact remains that people of all religions get sick, ill, diseased and die. Just because Jesus, God, Yahweh, Allah, Buddha, Krishna, Shiva, Shakti, Ganesha, etc., do not heal their followers of diseases, adherents do not lose faith in their chosen God. Ex-Devotees seem to think that none of Sathya Sai Baba followers are supposed to get sick or die. As soon as a Sai Devotee gets sick or dies, Ex-Devotees are right there pointing fingers and making all sorts of aspersions and slurs. Yet whenever a fellow member of their Anti-Sai group gets sick and dies, they are writing numerous tributes and praising them for their adherence to truth and righteousness. Even adherents of truth and righteousness get sick and die. What is this indicative of? That their adherence was not genuine?
It is amusing that Satch Purcell wants others to readily believe his hearsay allegations although he was never sexually abused himself. After many years of allegations circulating on the internet and no legal action filed against Sathya Sai Baba, Anti-Sai Activists attempt to make their case by saying people should simply believe them and not question their accusations whatsoever. Those who do question are accused of “demonization” and “slander”, etc. Strange enough, I have shown how Anti-Sai Activists “demonize” and “slander” others (to this day) with proof.
Satch Purcell has decided to ally himself with a bunch of bitter, vindictive and dishonest propagandizers to make his case against Sathya Sai Baba. That is his choice but I am not convinced by his hearsay and ever-changing stories about alleged events he never witnessed himself. Period.
Sharon Purcell - Satch Purcell - Sathya Sai Baba (Part 4):
- My Life As Sathya Sai Baba’s Prophecy (Part 4)
http://home.hetnet.nl/~ex_baba/engels/articles/sathyapurcell04.html
Apparently Anti-Sai Activists are discombobulated, confused and have the short-term memory of a goldfish. This article is an exact duplicate of the introduction in Satch Purcell’s former article (part 3). Ex-Devotees are trying to make it look like Satch Purcell has written many articles. In actuality, he has written one article and it is being divided into several articles (in an attempt to give impetus to the Anti-Sai Movement’s turtle-momentum).
Sharon Purcell - Satch Purcell - Sathya Sai Baba (Part 5):
- My Life As Sathya Sai Baba’s Prophecy (Part 5)
http://home.hetnet.nl/~ex_baba/engels/articles/sathyapurcell05.html
This time around, Satch Purcell regurgitated the same story-line (again) that Sathya Sai Baba is a fraud who possesses no genuine paranormal powers even though Sharon Purcell (his own mother) believed Sathya Sai Baba did possess genuine paranormal powers. As a matter of fact, Robert Priddy (an Ex-Devotee) and Barry Pittard (an Ex-Devotee) currently believe (even after their defection) that Sathya Sai Baba does possess genuine paranormal powers.
Satch Purcell (like a person suffering from some sort of paranoid disorder) actually believes (with no proof) that Sathya Sai Baba somehow operates a covert, undercover spy organization that rivals the CIA and is comprised of “taxi and bus drivers, beggars, shopkeepers, restauranteurs, service volunteers and those in the ashram front office, etc., etc.” who keep him informed about everything that happens to all his foreign devotees all around the world!
Needless to say, this couldn’t be further from the truth. Westerners are well aware of how difficult it is to access Sathya Sai Baba’s person. The facts of the matter are:
- Seva Dals (service volunteers from different parts of India) mostly do not speak or understand English (or other foreign languages) properly and do not have access to Sathya Sai Baba’s person.
- Indian beggars (who are not allowed in the Ashram except for meals) mostly do not speak or understand English (or other foreign languages) properly and do not have access to Sathya Sai Baba’s person or prominent Sai Devotees.
- Indian Taxi and Bus Drivers mostly do not speak or understand English (or other foreign languages) properly and do not have access to Sathya Sai Baba’s person or prominent Sai Devotees.
- Indian Restauranteurs (most who stand outside the Mandir premise to have darshan) mostly do not speak or understand English (or other foreign languages) properly and do not have access to Sathya Sai Baba’s person.
Satch Purcell was apparently very paranoid when he was in India and actually expects others to believe him when he claims that Indians (who cannot understand or speak English properly, let alone other foreign languages) are informants and spies relaying information in a variety of foreign languages about Sai Devotees to Ashram Officials and Sathya Sai Baba.
Trying to bolster his case, Satch Purcell related information as told to him by Jed Geyerhahn. Needless to say, Jed Geyerhahn related wholly inconsistent stories about his alleged experiences with Sathya Sai Baba. It is also important to note that although Satch Purcell claimed Jed Geyerhahn was sexually abused, Jed Geyerhahn claimed he was not sexually abused but stated he received non-sexual oil/vibuthi treatments. Despite all of these accusations by Satch Purcell against Sai Baba, it is important to note that his own mother (Sharon Purcell) did not believe her own son and stayed devoted to Sathya Sai Baba for 7 years after her own son defected. I think that speaks volumes about Satch Purcell’s credibility and what he originally told his mother then versus his embellished recollections now.
Sharon Purcell - Satch Purcell - Sathya Sai Baba (Part 6):
- My Life As Sathya Sai Baba’s Prophecy, Part 6 (Final)
http://home.hetnet.nl/~ex_baba/engels/articles/sathyapurcell05.html
Satch Purcell (once again) revisited the June 6th 1993 police shooting incidents and relied (once again) on hearsay information about alleged events he never witnessed first-hand. As a matter of fact, Satch Purcell slept through the police shootings that occurred on June 6th 1993. The closest Satch Purcell got to the mandir was the outer perimeter (the closest distance being at least 40-50 feet at the main gate, which devotees would not have been allowed near) and he contended that the water used to clean the cement was pink with blood. There are several significant problems with Satch Purcell’s claims:
- Satch Purcell did not know the “pink water” was tainted with blood. Satch Purcell (shocked by the events of the previous night) assumed the worst when he saw pink water and he speculated the water was tainted with blood. One must remember that the four assailants were killed inside the Mandir building, not ouside of it. Satch speculated that the blood inside the Mandir building was swept outside the Mandir building, down the front of the Mandir verandah, down the verandah stairs, smeared 40-50 feet across the Mandir compound, down the main gate entrace and to the feet of walking devotees! This is wholly and utterly absurd. Satch Purcell even aknowledged the long distance between himself and the mandir.
- The police shootings occurred around 11:30pm. It is preposterous to think that the Ashram would allow the blood sit in place for 6-7 hours before deciding to clean it up in the early morning hours where everyone could see it (especially considering that devotees get up for Brahma Muhurtham to sing the Suprabhatam and Omkar and line up well before sunrise). Satch Purcell claimed he went to the Mandir around sunrise and I am not aware of anyone else (besides Satch Purcell) who claimed that there was bloody water at the Mandir perimeters.
- It is a well known fact that every morning the Mandir premise is swept clean with water. Beautiful rangolli designs decorate all the main entrances to the Mandir compound. Needless to say, besides the white powder used to create these designs, vivid red kum-kum is applied in the center along with flowers. When the red kum-kum mixes with water, it turns it red or pink, hence “pink water”. I forget how many times I stepped in that red kum-kum water only to stain my white pajama pants after sitting down.
- Satch Purcell admitted that at the time of police shootings, he was already doubtful about Sathya Sai Baba and concluded a priori that the events were “murder”. How’s that for rational and logical?
Satch Purcell alleged (with no proof whatsoever) that Sathya Sai Baba had the four assailants killed and was directly involved with their deaths. Gee, where is the proof? It is exactly these types of erroneous and shallow comments that undermine and compromise Satch Purcell’s crediblity and highlight his gutter, paranoid and conspiratorial mentality. Not only did Satch Purcell believe Sathya Sai Baba had the four assailants killed (nevermind the two surviving people belonging to the assailant’s group who claimed they never intended to hurt Sai Baba), he also believes that Sathya Sai Baba runs a vast, covert spy operation composed of poor beggars, taxi and bus drivers, restauranteurs, etc., who do not even speak or understand English properly!
And to top it all off, Satch Purcell’s article was originally written on July 4th 2004. This confirms my former comments that Satch Purcell wrote one article it was divided into six articles by the ever-so-desperate Anti-Sai Activists who attempt to deceive others into thinking that they are publishing many articles against Sai Baba when they are not. Consequently, Satch Purcell wrote his article after an 11 year period. It is amusing that Satch Purcell ended his article with a promise that what he wrote was true (even though he had nothing to back up his claims). So concludes Satch Purcell’s article(s) and thank goodness for that.
