According to Jose Santiago, anyone who is a Sathya Sai Baba devotee should not die. This story revealed the profound depth of devotion that Marcos Santamaria had for Sathya Sai Baba. Jose Santiago had the audacity to suggest that there was some sort of sexual impropriety between Marcos and Sathya Sai Baba because he was showered with attention by Baba. More proof that ex-devotees are sexually focused perverts who choose to speculate and gossip about sexual improprieties without proof. Jose Santiago said that Marco Santamaria had hepatitis C and had it under control. This is indeed a strange statement because there is no cure for Hepatitis C and by the time one goes on medication for it, it is active and has already caused liver damage to some extent. The treatment for Hep C is usually an injection of interferon 3 times a week and is usually monitored very closely by a doctor. There is a lot of information about this story that is missing. Hepatitis C is also transmitted through bodily fluids. Why would Sathya Sai Baba engage in alleged sexual acts with a man known to have Hep C (as implied by Jose Santiago)? More lies from Anti-Sai's.

I did not see it as an act of "terror". After Robert Priddy's disaffection and the death of V.K.N., all of a sudden, Robert Priddy began telling tall-tales about V.K.N. Comment: Robert Priddy's critiqued the "Ceiling on Desires" program and Phyllis Krystal. Robert Priddy also talked about his alleged conversation with the Sathya Sai Baba devotee and loyalist, V.K. Narasimhan. Robert Priddy also claimed that he has "reliable informants" (which sounds very much like the claims made by tabloid, gossip magazines). Apparently, no one can organize or undertake any fund-raising project or Robert Priddy thinks it is unfair and lacks transparency. Robert Priddy then flip-flopped and claimed he has voluminous amounts of information about these fund-raising projects, proving that they are transparent and are documented!

Comment: Robert Priddy should know better than to cite anonymous sources for his information. However, this is exactly what Robert Priddy did, i.e., cite anonymous sources. Robert Priddy sees no problem when he cites anonymous sources, however, if any Pro-Sai Activist does the same, they are viciously attacked as being "faceless" "cowardly creatures".
At one point, there was definitely a lack of communication on how flats were purchased inside the ashram. There are many laws about foreigners owning land in Andrah Pradesh. Consequently, foreigners thought they were purchasing a flat outright, when in reality they were purchasing a guaranteed place to stay in the ashram during their visits to Prashanti Nilayam. Many made these purchases (around $4,000 - $6,000) without contacting a lawyer or independently verifying the details to these purchases. I cannot speak for anyone else, but if I was going to purchase a flat (for $4,000 - $6,000, which happens to be extremely cheap for a flat), I would have made the necessary inquiries with a lawyer or got the details in a written contract. Many of the people who made these purchases, failed to take these common-sense precautions. So the blame is two-directional.

Robert Priddy said this with a straight face, failing to mention that Sathya Sai Baba has opened two Super Specialty hospitals that provide free operations for the poorest of the poor in India (with operation expenses easily exceeding hundreds of thousands dollars monthly). Priddy also failed to mention Sathya Sai Baba's multi-million dollar drinking-water projects that bring potable water to poor and drought-ridden villages in India. Sathya Sai Baba also provides free education to tens of thousands of Indians. Sathya Sai Baba is well known for his acts of philanthropy. Consequently, Robert Priddy's critiques are selective, one-way and misleading.

Comment: Serguei Badaev said he could not practice Sathya Sai Baba's teaching of seeing only what is good and ignoring the bad. Serguei cited many stories of violence to prove his point that bad exists and that we must acknowledge what is bad. Of course, none of these acts of violence, racism and hate would have occurred if people practiced seeing the good in others and not the bad. I agree with the basic premise of this article. Duality exists and is very real. Nonduality is intangible and unknown (except to those who argue with others about nonduality, thereby validating it).

Comment: Reidun Priddy talked about Sam Young (the pseudonym that Alaya Rahm used). I don't understand why this three-part series was called "Personal Reflections of a Doubting Devotee". When Reidun wrote these articles, she was no longer a devotee. Is she referring to doubts she had while she was a devotee for 17 years? That is a long time to have doubts. If it took her this long to wake up to the doubts she admitted to having, she has to accept her fair share of the blame for being gullible.

Comment: Contradicting Robert Priddy's comments in a former article, Reidun Priddy attributed the non-authenticity of Sathya Sai Baba's divinity based on the behavior of his devotees. In an earlier article, Robert Priddy said that the behavior and character of devotee does not reflect the character of the Guru! Robert Priddy limited himself to the positive aspects only. However, since I am a free and open thinker, I do not have limit myself like Robert Priddy does. If one made an argument against Sathya Sai Baba saying that a devotee's character does not reflect Baba's character, this applies equally to both the positive and negative aspects of his or her character. Funny that Reidun and Robert Priddy cannot even agree with each other in their critiques.

Comment: That is correct, a person's character is not indicative of their Guru's character. This applies to both positive and negative qualities. Robert Priddy also talked about what he perceived as injustices in the treatment of invalids at Sathya Sai Baba's ashram. Of course, don't expect Robert Priddy to divulge the fact that most of the invalids do not complain about waiting in line for over an hour to see Sathya Sai Baba. As a matter of fact, many of the invalids voluntarily go and wait to see Sathya Sai Baba and even begin to queue early! Sometimes even going twice a day to darshans. Of course, Robert Priddy is whining about his back pain (just like he did throughout his entire book, Source of the Dream). I am sure he did not like waiting. This hardly qualifies him to speak on behalf of those who joyfully go and wait to get a place to sit for darshan or bhajan.

Comment: The Sathya Sai Baba movement is considered by many to be a cult. However, it is not considered a dangerous cult. Jehovah's Witnesses number almost 10,000,000 world-wide. Cult is a very broad term that can apply to almost any group. As I have said elsewhere, Anti-Sai Activists, in my opinion, have formed their own cult replete with cult characteristics. Cults members have an "us versus them mentality" (as is commonly seen among Anti-Sai Activists). Cult members feel they are not bound to the laws of the wider community (which explains why Anti-Sai Activists fail to take their "abundant evidence" to a court of law). Cult members often herd together and employ "group thuggery" tactics to obtain a desired benefit. This is evidenced in the all too common Anti-Sai Activist ploy where a collective attack is made against a single person who holds a contrarian view. Anti-Sai Activists do this by ganging up on a single person via email (look at ExBaba.com's "Letters Section") or by divulging personal contact information so that the group can attack that person collectively. Some Anti-Sai Activists, like Reinier Van Der Sandt, feel that they are entitled to lie, while, at the same time, demand truthfulness of others. This is a typical cult characteristic where they feel that the "ends justify the means". Questioning and doubts, toward Anti-Sai propaganda, are seen as unfavorable and character assassination is the preferred method of reply. The predominance of several vocal top leaders with numerous, less vocal followers believing and doing what they are told (sheep mentality) and refusing to even consider an alternative viewpoint is clearly seen in ExBaba.com's "Letters Section". Enough said!

- Have a weird screwed up hair style.

- Truck in crowds for publicity.
- Don't claim to be God.

Of course, this articles makes the case for me that Anti-Sai Activists are motivated by anger, hate and vindictiveness. They are not impartial and do not strive to know the truth. They are unfair, of low character and mean-spirited. They have already made up their minds and will do whatever it takes to slander Sathya Sai Baba at any cost, even at the cost of personal integrity.
