Introduction:
For several years, many people have correctly suspected that there are Fundamentalist and Evangelical Christian movements against Sathya Sai Baba and Hinduism. Anti-Sai Activists have continually denied that Christian movements exist and have tried to dismiss these suspicions as excuse-making and the like.
Strangely enough, Anti-Sai Activists have published emails and articles (on their own Anti-Sai Sites) specifically attempting to polarize Christians against the Indian Guru Satya Sai Baba.
The following is a list to Fundamentalist and Evangelical Christians, Christian sites and Christian organizations that specifically oppose Sathya Sai Baba and Hinduism:
Reinier Van De Sandt: Christian Webmaster To The Exbaba.com Site:
Reinier Van Der Sandt (RVDS) is a Fundamentalist Christian who is the webmaster for ExBaba.com, the portal to the largest Anti-Sai Site on the internet. RVDS has never seen or followed Sri Sathya Sai Baba. Despite this fact, RVDS has taken a keen interest against Sathya Sai Baba and openly attacked him in Yahoo Forums using fake online identities. Click Here to view very disturbing facts about Reinier Van Der Sandt, the webmaster to the internet's largest Anti-Sai Site. RVDS also wrote two letters to Cardinal Simonis trying to polarize Christians against Sathya Sai Baba. In Reinier Van Der Sandt's second letter, he said:
"This letter clearly shows that the catholic church and its representative Cardinal Simonis are not happy with the teachings of Sathya Sai Baba in India."
Cardinal Simonis responded by saying:
"I am pleased that you left this group, for the man at issue is very detrimental to the Gospel of Jesus Christ."
Reinier also added the "pastoraat-sos.nl" Evangelical Christian banner on his ExBaba site. This Christian banner was added "For help to ex devotees" and was quickly removed after I mentioned it on this page. Too late, I already screen-captured it: (See For Yourself).
INFORM & Sathya Sai Baba:
A leaflet dispersed by INFORM (Information Network Focus on Religious Movements), which was founded by Eileen Barker, specifically outlines allegations of sexual abuse as taken from The Findings by David and Faye Bailey. INFORM also runs the cults-sects-nrms.info site. INFORM is based at the London School of Economics and is an "independent" charity that is funded by Mainstream Churches. Their Patrons and Governers are Bishops, Priests or members of Orthodox Churches: About INFORM (pdf file).
SaiGuru.net Domain Owner:
Quintanilla, Juan Roman Lomeli is the owner for the SaiGuru.net domain, the second largest Anti-Sai Site on the internet. Quintanilla is a Devout Catholic who lives in Mexico. He posted a passage (on SaiGuru.net) from St. John about Sathya Sai Baba being the Anti-Christ. The SaiGuru.net site is a mirror site to the ExBaba site. Click Here to view my articles about SaiGuru.net.
Jenta Cezary: Dominican Priest Webmaster To The "Sekty.net" Site:
Jenta Cezary is the webmaster to Sekty.net, which posts many Anti-Sai articles (many duplicated from other Anti-Sai Sites). Jenta Cezary is a Fundamentalist Dominican Priest who not only attacks Sathya Sai Baba, he attacks other gurus and sects that he sees as challenging his own personal faith.
Sidharth Mohandas On The "FactNet.org" Forum:
Click Here to view a posting on the FactNet.org forum by Sidharth Mohandas (who lives in India and is obviously a fundamentalist Christian). Mohandas accused Sathya Sai Baba of "being of the devil", being "devil possessed" and then rants about his own Christian beliefs. Consequently, there are still Christians, in India, who are bashing Sathya Sai Baba. Who knows what else they are doing?
Extremist Christian Anti-Hindu "tamilchrist.ch" Website:
The "tamilchrist.ch" (ch=switzerland) website is an Extremist, Fundamentalist, Evangelical, Creationist, Christian website for Tamils of Indian descent.
On the main page (if you do not have the Tamil font installed), just below the banner, there is a link that says, "rha;-ghgh" (next to another link that says "Hindu"). That link is an Anti-Sai link that goes to "tamilchrist.ch/sai-baba/baba.htm". This page fully links to Anti-Sai Sites and even reproduces images to the corpses of the 1993 police shooting victims. This Fundamentalist Christian Site also fully links to Robert Priddy's site (as a matter of fact, they duplicate Priddy's webpages in their entirety) and to the hetnet/~exbaba site (the largest Anti-Sai Site on the internet). They provide links to Saiguru.net and to Conny Larsson's site, saibabaexpose.com.
The webmaster to this Extremist Christian site gives his address as: Grosspeterstrasse 25, 4052 Basel, Switzerland, Telephone 061/ 311 89 58. However, for some unknown reason, he uses a variety of names:
- R. Ramesh Vairavan
- Rajadurai Vairavan
- Rameshkanna Vairavan
- Ramesh Kanna Vairavan
- Rajarajasolan
- Ramesh Rajadurai
- Rameshkanna Rajadurai
- Ramesh Kanna Rajadurai
The webmaster is originally from Nelliyadi, Sri Lanka. This site is also Anti-Hindu and has a link (next to Sathya Sai Baba's) that takes an Anti-Hindu stance. Strange enough, one of the original pseudonyms for Gabriel Merrun was "Ramesh" (which is how this Christian site was tracked down in the first place).
Janet & Antoin Hein-Hudson: "apologeticsindex.org" Webmasters:
Anton and Janet Hein-Hudson are the Fundamentalist Christian webmasters to apologeticsindex.org, which posts voluminous Anti-Sai articles and resources (they refuse to link to any site that refute Anti-Sai Articles). On their About Us page at apologeticsindex.org, they state:
"Apologetics Index (AI) is an online Christian ministry with a two-fold purpose: to provide Christians with apologetics research resources on cults, sects, other religious movements, doctrines and practices, and to help non-Christians find relevant information on the same subjects. AI's publishers, Anton and Janet Hein-Hudson, support freedom of religion in thought and expression, as well as the freedom to present research information that helps people make informed decisions about various movements, belief systems and world views. The publishers operate from an evangelical, Christian point of view. However, Apologetics Index evaluates cults both theologically and sociologically. This website documents significant doctrinal differences between the essential teachings and practices of historical Christianity and those of other religions, including religious movements that claim to be compatible with Christianity."
Strangely enough, Anton William Hein was a minister in California who sexually abused a child and was convicted of the same. Click Here to read the following:
"For the crime of "LEWD ACT UPON A CHILD" Anton William Hein pleaded no contest in Jul 1994 in San Bernardino County Municipal Court and spent about 6 months in jail filed in July 1994. After his release from Prison, Mr. Hein moved to Holland"
Anton Hein now denies having molested the child. Click Here to view his response to these charges. Click Here to view more debate.
Nevertheless, on the following page: meganslaw.ca.gov, William Anton Hein has been in violation of his registration, for convicted sex offenders, since 8-25-1996. If you need more proof, click here, and enter the name "hein" - "anton", then click on "HEIN" and see for yourself that he has a felony warrant out for his arrest. Anton Hein whole-heartedly endorses Tal Brooke and his Anti-Hindu, Anti-Sai, Anti-Everything-That-Is-Not-Christian books and publications.
Fundamentalist Christian Robert Taliaferro (Tal) Brooke:
Tal Brooke is a Fundamentalist Christian who has written a book against Sathya Sai Baba entitled "Lord Of The Air" (later renamed "Avatar Of The Night"). Tal Brooke is the President and Chairman for the Spiritual Counterfeits Project, which is a Fundamentalist Christian Organization that opposes any belief that is non-Christian.
Tal Brooke made many allegations in his book "Lord Of The Air" against Sathya Sai Baba. Despite Brooke providing partial names to several alleged witnesses, not even one of these alleged witnesses has come forward in 30 years to corroborate his story. Not even one single person! Tal Brooke also wrote against Hinduism in his book entitled, "Riders Of The Cosmic Circuit, The Dark Side of Superconsciousness", in which a systematic attack against Hinduism and Gurus is made (suggesting that enlightenment is an evil path and that God-Men or Gurus are demon possessed). Brooke also believes that Sathya Sai Baba is the Anti-Christ.
Dennis Engdahl: Associate Pastor At The Evangelical Free Church:
Dennis Engdahl is the Associate Pastor to the Evangelical Free Church, in Mount Shasta, whose purpose is stated as:
"We are united by a mutual commitment to serve our Lord Jesus Christ with the guidance of the Holy Spirit and obedience to the Word of God. We are committed to cooperate with one another in ministry and fellowship as we seek to fulfill the Great Commission which Christ has entrusted to His Church...The term Evangelical refers to our commitment to the proclamation of the Gospel and to the authority of Scriptures as being inerrant in the original writings and the only safe and sufficient guide to faith and practice."Dennis Engdahl is also the webmaster to SnowCrest.net, which provides Anti-Sai resources, links and archives against Sathya Sai Baba.
Christian Fundamentalist Barry Newton:
Barry Newton, a fundamentalist Christian, submitted the following letter to the Exbaba site (which they readily published):
"My name is Barry Newton, and I live in Sydney Australia. To my utter disgrace I was once deputy chairperson of the Sathya Sai Organisation of NSW (Australia). I have spoken person to person to a well known claimant of homosexual abuse by Sai Baba. His story is true.
The said Sai Baba insists that all devotees (followers of Sai Baba) be vegetarian at least and vegan vegetarian at best. His claim is that one is purified by doing so, that meat is impure and corrupting. I wish to draw your attention to 1 Timothy 4:1-4 in this regard at least, for it speaks clearly of such false prophets and doctrines. You may (or may not) be aware that vegetarianism is promoted by most, if not all, of the famous "New Age Guru's" ~ Dwyer, Chopra et al. This is but one of many of his false doctrines ~ they are profuse in number.
I am a long standing Christian who was indeed led astray as prophesied by Jesus (St Matthew 24:4-28). Oddly enough, Sai Baba located one of his main building projects ~ the Super Specialty Hospital ~ on the basis that 5 eagles were seen on the ground at that spot (refer Matt 24:28). 2 Timothy 4:3,4 speaks similarly, and I write to you so as to make full proof of my ministry in regard to truth. (2 Tim 4:5).
It is my deepest concern that the very elect are being led astray in these times precedent to Our Lord. It is of deeper concern that the very elect appear unconcerned with the teachings in Our Lord's own book.
All this brings to question the authenticity and literality of the prophecies of Christ. I believe Him truly and fully now ~ do you? Truly one does not recognize the light until they have been in the dark, and this one lost sheep has been ~ saved yet again!
I pray that we all find ourselves to be in one of the two churches out of the seven which truly adhere to the teachings of Christ in the end times."
Maria X:
The ExBaba site also published a letter from a lady named "Maria X" who said, in part:
"As far as I am concerned, I'm proud I am Italian and I am proud of my Catholic education and rationality, and I think it is necessary to expose all these frauds who are becoming rich, shattering our national identity trying to substitute it with a crowd of Hindu gods and traditions, at the expense of the Western world, whose material welfare they do not despise."
Dr. Reinhart Hummel: Another Evangelical Christian:
The ExBaba site published an article from the Evangelical Christian Dr. Reinhart Hummel (former director, since 1981, of the "Evangelische Zentralstelle fur Weltanschauungsfragen in Stuttgart") entitled "Baba seen through Christian eyes". This article essentially stated that Sathya Sai Baba is Anti-Christian, the Anti-Christ and that Hinduism is a flawed religion.
Said Afshin Khorramshahgol:
Said Afshin Khorramshahgol claims he is an alleged sexual abuse victim of Sathya Sai Baba (despite saying that he initially saw nothing sexual or wrong in what Sathya Sai Baba did to him). Afshin changed his mind after he saw a movie of Sathya Sai Baba allegedly "cheating" on a materialization. Afshin made numerous references to himself as a Muslim. However, a little known fact about Afshin is that he was actually educated at St. John Vianney High School, whose mission statement is:
"St. John Vianney High School will provide all students with a Christian Vision of reality in an atmosphere conducive to serving the community. St. John Vianney High School will help all students mature into young adults through a multi-faceted Program of instruction designed to develop moral, intellectual, psychological, physical and social growth in the presence of God."
White Supremacists Against Sathya Sai Baba?:
There are very disturbing White Supremacist images on the Sathaysaibaba2 Yahoo Group (which have since been removed). Most White Supremacists belong to Aryan Nations, a Fundamentalist, Extremist, Christian hate group that uses the bible to promote what they call Christian Identity. Aryan Nations have even formed their own churches (the most political one being the White Identity Church of Jesus Christ). They are racist and are openly Anti-Semitic. Click Here to view the White Supremacist images displayed on a Sathya Sai Baba Yahoo Group. The big question is: What are White Supremacists doing on a Sathya Sai Baba Group to begin with?
Anti-Sai Activists Attempt To Polarize Christians:
Barry Pittard, Glen Meloy and other Anti-SSB Activists have also admitted contacting various Christian Organizations, trying very hard to polarize Christians against Sathya Sai Baba. The most obvious attempts were the contacts to the World-Wide Unity Churches, Unity of Phoenix, Churches in Denmark, the Christ Church in Australia, the Katoomba Christian Convention Centre, "mainstream Churches" and the Catholic Archdiocese in Adelaide and Glastonbury (all documented in Exbaba.com's Letters Section). An example of Barry Pittard's attempts to polarize Christians can be seen HERE, where Barry said:
"Trustfully, West Australians will ask of the Anglican Primate of Australia and Archbishop of Perth Dr Peter Carnley why he would put the issue of the autonomy of the Church of Christ Grammar School, the venue of a major national meeting of the Sathya Sai Organisation at this school (commencing at the end of last month) above the good repute of the Anglican Church of Australia. For,in allowing this prestigious Anglican school to open its doors to the Sathya Sai Organisation, this Church itself (not least given the increasing interest by international television and other media) will now be seen to have given sanctuary to the cultic and blinded devotees of the most infamous guru in the history of India."
Christian Attacks Preceding Sai Controversy:
An Anti-Sai Activist by the name of Britt-Marie Andén related the following account:
"Our local priest from the Christian Protestant church, a very fundamentalistic priest attacked very heavily our school-project during the preparation period in 1994, because of Sai Baba and of being a potential dangerous Hindu sect. He showed me a document he had received from Germany, telling that Sai Baba was a homosexual and having sex with boys, which I saw as black mailing from the Christian Church."
This first-hand account (from an Anti-Sai Activist) proves that there was a Christian movement in Germany, against Sathya Sai Baba and Hinduism, prior to the Sai Controversy. It is entirely probable that these Fundamentalist Christians spread lies against Sathya Sai Baba due to the perceived threat of the Sathya Sai Baba Organization and his widespread popularity.
Stance By The Russian Orthodox Church:
The ExBaba site published an article about the Russian Orthodox Church (the largest autocephalous church in the Eastern Orthodox churches commonwealth) blacklisting eight India-based organizations, including the Sathya Sai Organization. The article stated, in part:
"The Russian Orthodox Church, the dominant religious institution in multi-religious Russia, has for the first time publicly released a list of organizations -- based in this country and abroad -- that it considers "harmful sects". The list was released at a conference, titled 'Totalitarian sects: Danger of the 21st century', held in the Russian city of Nizhni-Novgorod under the patronage of the church."
The Russian Orthodox Church stated:
"The basic task of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia is the preservation abroad of complete independence of the Russian Orthodox Church from atheistic and anti-Christian forces and the overall spiritual nourishment of the Orthodox Russian flock in the diaspora, independent of nationality; and in particular, the preservation and strengthening in the souls of the faithful flock the purity and wholeness of the holy Orthodox faith; and the encouragement of devotion in the flock, dispersed throughout the world, to the suffering Mother Church."
Consequently, the Russian Orthodox Church is Anti-Sai Baba and Anti-Hindu.
Concerned Christians Growth Ministries:
Click Here to view the website of Concerned Christians Growth Ministries (CCG Ministries). This is a Christian Anti-Cult site. Click on their "Links" section and you will see that the solicit Tal Brooke's site, SCP (a fundamentalist Christian site), Apologetics Index Org (a Christian Anti-Cult site run by Anton Hein, the man discussed earlier who sexually molested a child), Personal Freedom Outreach (view their statement of faith) and the American Family Association (a radical, fundamentalist Christian site). They also provide an article list where they Biblically refute and systematically attack Eastern Religions (Hinduism and Buddhism), the New Age Movement, Islam, Mormonism, the Occult, Jehovah's Witnesses, Freemasonry, and perceived non-Christian groups. This site also attacks Sathya Sai Baba. The founder was Rev. Adrian van Leen.
Professor Johannes Aagaard, A Christian Counter Cult Activist:
The largest Anti-Sai Site on the internet, hetnet.nl/~exbaba, allied itself with Professor Johannes Aagaard (a Christian, Counter-Cult Activist), who is featured on their site, replete with contact information (Ref. 1). Aagaard is a:
"Professor at the Institute of Missiology and Ecumenical Theology, Faculty of Theology, Aarhus University (Denmark), is Converter of the Dialog Center International (DCI), a Christian research organization that collects and disseminates information on cults and new religious movements." (Ref. 2)
Aagaard has written and spoken against Sathya Sai Baba several times.
"The Dialog Center (DCI) is the name of a nationwide network, founded as a result of the growth of New Religious Movements (NRMs) in Denmark and elsewhere. The purpose of the Dialog Center is to communicate the Christian faith to people of other beliefs and convictions in a dialog. In relation to the neo-religiosity, our intention is to realize a dialog in confrontation. Our experience shows that such Christian apologetics, through the work with the neo-religiosity, may well lead us to a deeper understanding of the meaning and the truth of the Christian faith. St. Paul and other Christian Apologists had to dialog with existing philosophies and NRMs like Gnosticism. They had to grapple with making the Gospel clear, just as we have in the present period. An important element in recovery is the discovery of true Christian prayer and meditation, which can function as an alternative to the dangerous and doubtful methods of meditation arising out of an Occult or Hindu movement. The DCI is a Christian organization or rather a Christian network, which is grounded on what we name classical Christianity. That includes the Biblical basis of all such churches and the classical creeds of the old church." (Ref. 3 & 4).
The DCI takes issue with Astrology, Buddhism, Ching Hai, Jehovah's Witnesses, Mormons, the New Age, Radhasoamis, Reincarnation, Sathya Sai Baba, Satanism, Scientology, the World Faith Movement and Transcendental Meditation. Click Here to view the website of DCI. This is another Christian Anti-Cult site. Click on their "Links" section and you will see that DCI similarly solicits Tal Brooke's site, SCP (a fundamentalist Christian site), Apologetics Index Org (a Christian Anti-Cult site run by Anton Hein, the man discussed earlier who sexually molested a child), The Watchman Fellowship (a fundamentalist Christian site) and the American Family Association (a radical, fundamentalist Christian site). Aagaard is also a strong supporter of Caryl Matrisciana (an outspoken fundamentalist Christian). Matrisciana's writings and films are supported by organizations like the Religion Analysis Service, Deo Gloria Trust and Cultivate Ministries. Aagaard took Matrisciana with him, to India, to do research on "cults".
"Jesus-Is-Savior.com":
Click Here to view a Christian page from Jesus-Is-Savior.com that attacks Shirdi Sai Baba and Sathya Sai Baba as promoting the "Devil's new age religion" and belonging to the Illuminati.
The Christian Anti-Sai Activist, Barbara Dent/Osler:
What to say about the Christian ex-devotee of Sathya Sai Baba, Barbara Dent? I had to create an entire page for her and her voluminous defamations.
Click Here to view my page about Barbara Dent (Warning: Contains Explicit Language)
Barabara is a Christian Anti-Sai whacko who claims she possesses the gift of telepathy, can astral travel and that the spirit of Mother Mary possesses her, speaks through her and types through her fingers! Not only this, but Barbara has a vicious potty mouth and can't seem to stop trashing, bashing and defaming others with sexual slurs and aspersions. Needless to say, Barbara Dent is a perfect example of the type of mentally unstable Anti-Sai Activist who spreads defamations and lies against Sathya Sai Baba on the internet.
Anti-Sai Christians - Another Admission From Barry Pittard:
Barry Pittard recently admitted that UK Catholic Bishops have taken measures to counter the Sathya Sai Org in the UK. Barry Pittard said:
"At Glastonbury, the Catholic bishop banned from its premises the well-known Ramala Centre, founded by high-profile Sai devotees David Jevons and Anne Jevons, his wife. The UK Catholic Bishops have taken private steps to thwart the Sathya Sai Organization from interfacing with the Catholic Church in the U.K. (We will share details with reputed media and other responsible investigators)."
Barry Pittard has been repeating this same cuckoo, outdated slop for years. In all this time, no "reputed media and other responsible investigators" have found any proof or evidence against Sathya Sai Baba. Nothing. What Barry Pittard failed to mention is that Anti-Sai Activists have openly boasted that they were behind attempts to polarize Christians against Sathya Sai Baba.
Critics, Skeptics, Rationalists And Atheists Against Sathya Sai Baba:
None of these atheists, rationalists, humanists, secularists, magicians, critics, skeptics, free thinkers, etc., have ever scientifically "exposed" Sathya Sai Baba as a fraud, cheat, charlatan, fake or the like. Here is a list of Atheists & Rationalists who have spoken against Sathya Sai Baba (mostly repeating the same unsubstantiated, biased and baseless rhetoric spread by ex-devotees):

Rationalist, Atheist And Skeptical Websites Against Sathya Sai Baba:
Atheist and Rationalist websites that have published critical and skeptical material against Sathya Sai Baba. Most of these sites simply duplicate Anti-Sai articles from other Anti-Sai sites and contain very few original publications (which similarly repeat the same unsubstantiated, biased and baseless rhetoric spread by ex-devotees):
- bcskeptics.info
- skeptics.com.au
- ntskeptics.org
- csj.org, discord.org
- skeptics.org.nz

In Conclusion:
Consequently, the perception that there are Fundamentalist and Evangelical Christians, Christian sites and Christianity movements specifically opposing Sathya Sai Baba and Hinduism is entirely valid and warranted. Similarly, the perception that there are Rationalists, Atheists and Skeptics opposing Sathya Sai Baba on rationalist, atheistic and skeptical websites is entirely valid and warranted.
