Information About The Maharloka Chakra

In our perception, everything possesses a yin yang of opposites (i.e., Light & Dark, South Pole & North Pole, Spiritual & Material, Superior & Inferior, High & Low, Positive & Negative, Soft & Hard, Heaven & Hell, Hot & Cold, Love & Hate, Feminine & Masculine, Attractive & Repulsive, etc.). A Loka is a luminous, spiritual sphere comparable to Yang. A Tala is a shadow, material sphere comparable to Yin. A Loka and a Tala are two seamless aspects to a specific state of consciousness.

Maharloka’s corresponding tala is Talatala.

Maharloka: (aka “Mahar Loka”) Maharloka (Sanskrit) [from the verbal root “mah” to be great, also pleasure, delight + “loka” world, plane]. Great world; the fourth of the seven lokas. Maharloka is the abode of certain classes of pitris, certain of the manus, and the seven rishis, as well as of orders of celestial spirits and gods. Its sphere of influence is exoterically said to extend to the utmost limits of the solar system. “By mystic yoga, great austerities and the renounced order of life, the pure destination of Maharloka is attained. But by devotional yoga, one achieves My transcendental abode.” (SB 11.24.14)
