On the main index page to saiguru.net, it dishonestly states, “SaiGuru.net is an independent website to expose the allegations and controversy surrounding the Indian Guru Sathya Sai Baba. It is not part of any particular group or movement.” The saiguru.net domain exclusively publishes Anti-Sai-Baba articles with no other content. The saiguru.net domain is registered to Juan Roman Lomeli Quintanilla, from Jalisco, Mexico.

Members of FMSR (Ivan Lomeli Quintanilla, Gabriela Quintanilla Trevino, Mariana Lomeli Quintanilla, Natalia Lomeli Quintanilla, Lionel Fernandez Lopez, Margarita Sanchez Van Dyck, Girasol Jimenez Ortega, Diana Ortega de Jimenez, Alfonso Peniche Ballesteros & Guillermo Santos Valle) have all signed the bogus Sai Petition against Sathya Sai Baba. This information conclusively proves that saiguru.net is not an “independent” website. Rather, saiguru.net is an Anti-Baba Site created and maintained by members of La Fundación Miguel Sánchez del Río who were former followers of Sathya Sai Baba.

English: Juan Román Lomelí, is the Secretary of the Foundation. He officially joined the FMSR in 1996 when he was 18 years old. He has since then been an outstanding leader in many different ways. Today he runs the FMSR Educational Center which he was responsible for building and obtaining contributions of educational material including a number of computers donated by HP. Today, thanks to Juan’s efforts, children of lower income families can obtain a high school degree in the FMSR Educational center and older folks can learn to read and write.

Lionel Fernandez Lopez

Spanish: Lionel Fernández López, es el director fundador de la FMSR y se puede decir que fue quien originó la idea de la misma y la mayoría de los proyectos que hoy se llevan a cabo. Lionel es originario de Cienfuegos, Cuba. Inició sus estudios escolares con los Padres Jesuitas como internado en el Colegio de Belén de La Habana e hizo su bachillerato con los padres Benedictinos en la ciudad de Savannah, Georgia, EEUU. Estudió administración de empresas y arte dramático en la Universidad de Miami, prefirió continuar con el teatro y continuó sus cursos en el American Academy of Dramatic Arts en la ciudad de Nueva York. Sirvió en el ejército de los Estados Unidos y de regreso a Nueva York decidió cambiar el rumbo de su vida al diseño, mismo que estudió en el Fashion Institute of Technology en Manhattan. Trabajó en este giro por más de 16 años y después de varios estudios en la línea de la filosofía y la meditación le volvió a cambiar el curso a su vida y se estableció en la ciudad de Guadalajara, Jalisco donde junto con Margarita y otros miembros fundadores tomó ventaja de lo aprendido para fundar el exitoso Centro Cultural Las Calas como apoyo inicial para la Fundación Miguel Sánchez del Rio, A.C.

English: Lionel Fernández is the director founder of FMSR and originator of the idea. He is a native of Cienfuegos, Cuba, attended the highly reputable Colegio de Belén, run by Jesuit Fathers in Havana and received his high school education from Benedictine Priests in the United States in the city of Savannah, Georgia. He attended the University of Miami in Miami, Fla, where he majored in business administration and had a minor in Drama, since he had an idea of eventually being an actor-producer. He also attended the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York City. Lionel served in the U.S. Army and upon his return to New York chamged careers again and opened his own business in the garment industry as a free lance designer after attending the Fashion Institute of Technology. A few years later he re-awakened his interested in philosofy, metaphysics and meditation and his life took a whole new course. He went to Mexico, met many people with the same interests, including Dra. Margarita Sánchez Van Dyck and together with Michael Swerdlow and others started the FMSR.

Spanish: Michael I. Swerdlow es originario del barrio de Brooklyn en la Ciudad de Nueva York y graduado en psicología en State University of New York at Stonybrook en Long Island. Sin embargo su vida se la ha dedicado totalmente a la música como guitarrista, pianista y un talentoso cantautor que ha representado roles estelares en producciones de ‘José El Soñador’ y el ‘Fantasma de la ópera’. Michael es también uno de los miembros fundadores de la FMSR y su talento musical lo ha convertido en una persona muy útil para la fundación porque, además posee un don especial para el trato con niños y jóvenes en quiénes ha despertado un gran interés por la música y el teatro, además de mantenerlos divertido y disciplinados. Michael fue un eje principal en las presentaciones musicales del Centro Cultural Las Calas y en la motivación de los artistas más jóvenes. Actualmente tiene un coro de unos 20 integrantes en el poblado de Maltaraña, y es un excelente maestro de Inglés, profesión que desarrolló en el Instituto Kellner de Guadalajara.

English: Michael I. Swerdlow is a native of Brooklyn, N.Y and has a degree in psychology from the State University of New York at Stonybrook en Long Island. Michael, however has dedicated his whole life to music as a pianist, guitarrist, singer and composer and has played the starring roles in "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat" and "Phanthom of the Opera" Michael is also a founding member of the of the FMSR and his musical talent and outstanding ability to work with the young keeping discipline and captivating their total interest He has formed choirs on several occasions and taught Englisht, a profession he developed in the Kellner Institute in Guadalajara. Michael's musical talent was a very important contribution to the Centro Cultural Las Calas that the Foundation ran in Guadalajara for six consecutive years.

Lionel Fernandez mentioned Michael Swerdlow on Hilda Charlton’s website (Ref). “L.F., Mexico” said (in part): “When I arrived at the apartment, it was just about 6:00 a.m. Michael Swerdlow had been living there too for a while. Margarita Sanchez Van Dyck

Spanish: Margarita Sánchez Van Dyck, también hija de Don Miguel y Doña Marina, es la Presidenta fundadora de la Fundación. Doctora en Psicología Social de los procesos de grupo, de la educación y de la formación de conocimientos (1974-1980) por la E.H.S.S. (école de Hautes études en Sciences Sociales) Paris, Francia y catedrática en el ITESO (Instituto Tecnológico de Estudios Superiores de Occidente), mismo que le otorgó en 1982 la categoría de “Profesor Titular”. Su interés en la investigación social la llevó a participar en varios proyectos de conocidas instituciones en Guadalajara. Elaboró durante un tiempo varias ponencias sobre “Movimientos Sociales Urbanos” y trabajó en beneficio de los sectores suburbanos marginados. En 1982 tuvo un cambio significativo en su vida al conocer a Lionel y a Michael quienes estaban buscando una tierra para establecer una comunidad auto-suficiente. Fue precisamente durante esa búsqueda que pudieron apreciar de cerca las incontables necesidades de la población rural y juntos decidieron formar la FMSR. Margarita se ha dedicado desde la que se instituyó la FMSR a la labor altruista de la misma participado activamente en la planeación y desarrollo de los proyectos. Paralelamente participó como consejera en la Comisión Estatal de Derechos Humanos de Jalisco de 1997 a 2001. Margarita vive actualmente en el rancho SEVA, sede de la FMSR con otros integrantes de la misma.

English: Margarita Sánchez Van Dyck, Daughter of Don Miguel and Doña Marina is President and founder of the Foundation. She has a doctorate in social psychology from E.H.S.S. (école de Hautes études en Sciences Sociales) in Paris, France and taught at Instituto Tecnológico de Estudios Superiores de Occidente (ITESO). Her interest in social investigation led her to participate in several projects by different organzations in the City of Guadalajara and complete several reports on "Social Urban Movements" . It was through such a research that they became aware of the vast needs to be found in marginal communities in rural areas and decided to start this Foundation. Margarita was also a memeber of the State Commission for Human Rights in Jalisco from 1997 to 2001.

Spanish: La Fundación Miguel Sánchez del Río, A.C. (FMSR) fue creada en 1984 como un medio de ayuda a la sociedad mediante el cual se pudieran llevar a cabo proyectos para mejorar el modo de vida de individuos, familias y poblaciones, enfocándose principalmente a las áreas rurales del estado de Jalisco, Mexico.

Por el hecho de que los fundadores de la FMSR adquirieron 100 hectáreas de terreno agrícola con el propósito de que éste fuera la sede central desde dónde operar, los primeros experimentos se llevaron a cabo en el vecino poblado de Maltaraña, Jalisco, que parecía manifestar todas las características típicas del estado en que se encuentra una gran mayoría de las comunidades rurales. Como también es evidente que los habitantes de estas poblaciones carecen de información en cuanto a los programas gubernamentales que le pueden servir de ayuda.

El mal estado de las viviendas, la carencia de agua potable, la ausencia de los signos más básicos de salubridad e higiene hacían de Maltaraña un modelo ideal que clamaba la necesidad de ser tomados en cuenta. Unas tres o cuatro norias, un río contaminado y los camiones de agua presuntamente potable eran las fuentes de abastecimiento del líquido vital con la que contaban cerca de 100 familias. Indiferencia, falta de esperanza y conflictos entre sus pobladores marcaban las características psicológicas de la población.

El trabajo de la FMSR consiste en detectar las dificultades, tanto a nivel personal como familiar o del poblado en general y gestionar o proveer la ayuda necesaria. Además de educación, alimentación y asesoría psicológica, la Fundación es instrumento para que la población pueda recibir los beneficios disponibles en las diferentes dependencias del gobierno que los ciudadanos en lugares remotos ignoran. English: The Miguel Sánchez del Río Foundation (FMSR) was created in 1984 as a way to help society in bettering the life style of individuals, families and communities in the rural area of the State of Jalisco, Mexico.

Due to the fact that the initiators of the project obtained 200 acres of farm land as the headquarters of the project in the State of Jalisco, the first experiments were carried out in the neighboring town of Maltaraña, a place that seemed to illustrate all of the main characteristics typical of the communities in rural areas. It was also evident that the inhabitants of these communities were lacking in information of the different government projects with which they could be helped.

The conditions of their living quarters, the lack of potable water and some of the most basic needs for healthy living made Maltaraña an ideal model with which to start. Three or four artisan wells next to a a highly contaminated river were the source of the precious liquid for 100 famlies. Indiference, hopelessness and conflicts among the individuals marked the socio-psychological characteristics of the population.

The work of the Foundation consists in detecting difficulties, being at a personal, family or community level and then taking the necessary steps to provide or obtain help. In addition to providing education, nutrition and professional counseling, the Foundation becomes a liason to help obtain the benefits that are available through government programs of which sometimes the communities are not aware.
